"I sent my Great Dane Ziggy to The Colorado Dog Training Co with one goal - better manners! Not only are his manners better, he's excelling. He was reactive to everything he saw. Jenny patiently worked with him to get him used to other humans and dogs, and he came home with better manners, responding to commands, able to take him out in public, and walking a million times better on the leash. I love that they did training in public and Ziggy has come home as the same goofy love bug with better manners and listening skills. "TLDR: 5 stars, Jenny is amazing. If you don’t want to read the novel below, just know that if you’ve even been thinking of getting help for your dog, you don’t need to look any further! Jenny was worth every penny and more.
Where to start. If we could give Jenny 500 stars we would. We adopted our girl from a local rescue and really struggled with her our first couple of weeks, to the point that doubts started to creep in that maybe we had made a mistake in getting a dog, that we were doing something wrong, etc. Inside the house, she was a normal pup. But outside, she was scared of literally everything – leaves rustling, cars, you name it. Even as she became more comfortable in our home, she still didn’t have much confidence and the second we stepped outside we couldn’t go more than a few feet with her before she’d try to bolt the other way or just plop down. Walks and going to the park (which is two blocks from our house) were incredibly difficult and often resulted in us picking her up as she refused to go anywhere. As an energetic breed, our inability to tire her out during the day made for some pretty long nights. It was clear that given her rescue background, she hadn’t been socialized like normal puppies and that not only did she need training, but she also needed to have her confidence built up. We recognized pretty quickly that we needed professional help if we were going to make this work and given that we had a few trips coming up, we opted for board and train.
We had heard about Jenny from a friend that had previously had their dog work with her and had nothing but amazing things to say. When the day came for us to start her board and train, Jenny came to us to pick up our girl and spent time getting to know her, asking us questions about what our goals were, and in general, really made sure she addressed our needs / concerns / questions.
We naturally wondered if even a professional could get our pup to do anything, but it was pretty clear that Jenny was the right choice because when it came time for her to leave, in the few yard walk from our front door to Jenny’s car, Jenny was able to get our pup to do more than we had in weeks. Over the course of her board and train, Jenny sent regular update pictures and videos, which assured us of all the progress our girl was making. It was very clear that our pup was having the time of her life and also learning a lot.
When the day came for us to get our girl back, Jenny dropped her off and spent about an hour with us teaching us everything – after all, if we didn’t keep up her training, what Jenny did would have been for nothing.
Night and day is an understatement for the difference in our girl from when Jenny picked her up to when Jenny dropped her off. First off, our girl was SO MUCH MORE CONFIDENT AND HAPPY!!! As Jenny coached us through her training commands, I literally couldn’t believe that this was the same dog. It’s been over a week now since we got our girl back and everyday is better than the one before it. We’ve stuck with her training and she has only gotten better and better. Jenny always answers our worried helicopter parent texts and gives us tips and tricks for anything that has popped up since.As I said before, I cannot stress enough how AMAZING Jenny is. Look no further for your training needs – Jenny will help you get there!"

Bear with me, as I write a full review of my experience with The Colorado Dog Training Co, and why I selected them.
I adopted a pitbull/heeler mix back in August 2021 (which I nicknamed clearance puppy) because he was born into a kill shelter, adopted once briefly, returned again weeks later.
He spent nearly the first 9 months of his life in a crowded kennel.
At about a year and a half old, his energy level and overall intelligence made him defiant, and so, so, so overly stimulated by people, things, and the excitement of other dogs around.
Training was non-negotiable at this point, but my presence seemed distracting for him; and any type of boarding facility would have felt like a shelter for him, and cause severe anxiety.
It took me a few weeks of researching before finding Jenny @ The Colorado Dog Training Co.
I sent in a form just explaining Jagger's personality, what I really wanted to see a change within, and moments after submitting the form, I received a text from Matt to set up a call with Jenny.
We got on the phone the same day, mapped out what his training would look like for a week stay with Jenny, if I wanted an e-collar involved/what kind of involvement, and every fine detail I could possibly think of.
My comfort level with Jenny after 1 phone call was incredible.
​Jagger truly is like my child, and after the life he had been through - it would be really hard to leave him for a full week in a new environment without having such high comfortability with the person.
Every day, I got videos of Jagger training, playing, running, and fully stepping into living life less anxious and much happier.
Jenny understands not only how to train dogs, but how important it can be to understand the breed(s) and adjust training accordingly.
Jagger is fully a working dog that needs physical but more importantly - mental stimulation. And Jenny knew how to provide that for him, and coach me on how to implement it.
I'm not sure if I learned more from Jenny or Jagger did - but our lives are 200% different after 1 week of training.
Once training was completed, I also had 3 follow up trainings with Jenny, Jagger and myself to properly pass off training, and check-in. Each and every time, I think Jagger wanted to go home with Jenny and her Heeler mix, Boone.
I've since boarded Jagger multiple times with Jenny; I am incredibly lucky to have found her and had this experience.
She will forever be an important person for Jagger and me here in Colorado - and I would recommend her to anyone, anytime.

"We couldn’t be happier with our experience working with Jenny! From our very first interaction, her communication was clear, timely, and highly professional. She took the time to truly understand our goals for training. It was immediately clear that she’s not only incredibly skilled, but also genuinely passionate about what she does.
As a first-time dog owner, I knew I wanted to start off on the right foot with a solid training foundation. Jenny exceeded every expectation. One of the things that stood out the most was the love and care she showed our dog—she treated him as if he were her own.
